We are Instruments in the Lord’s Hands

Dear Family and Friends..

So this month my brothers in law.. Elder Roy Lasike is entering the MTC.. and my brother Elder Josiah Tiatia will be joining him next week! aww.. what a great feeling to know that the Lord is able to use these young men as tools in his hands.. All through out the Book of Mormon.. the prophets has shared their experiences with being an "instrument in the Lords hand..".. well as a missionary and a Representative of Christ.. that is possible.. A scripture that comes to mind. 3 Ne 5: 13 "Behold, I am a Disciple of Jesus Christ. I have been called by him to declare his words among his people that they might have everlasting life." So for those that are choosing or thinking about serving a mission.. Take a second and think.. WHAT HAS THE LORD BLESSED ME WITH TODAY?... if you do that for a week.. i Promise you can make a list that could be a novel.. I am grateful for my calling and what i have been called to do in New Zealand.. I know that all of the missionaries in the world are waiting for their call  or have their call and ready to serve the LORD... A poem that a friend sent to me.. about  missionary work..

As I sit looking through the window, a tear still in my eye

I see the family and friends I love as we say our last goodbye.

The ride is long and tiring as two questions plague my mind,

"Do I want the life that lies ahead or the one I left behind?"

Twenty-four months is such a long time for going door to door,

In my reflections I thought to myself, "There really must be more."

I climb down from the airplane and looked longingly at the beach,

But a man turned me the other way and said, "Elder, go find and teach."

I sit reflecting once again as this day is my last;

I say, "Lord, this just isn't fair; twenty-four months goes much to fast."

As I sit looking through the window, a tear still in my eye,

I see the Elders and friends I love as we say our last goodbye.

The ride is long and tiring as two questions plague my mind,

"Do I want the life that lies ahead or the one I left behind?"

Ou te iloa ma mautinoa.. e le faigofie i lenei galuega.. ae galue faatasi ma le Alli o Iesu Keriso.. O le a e fesoasoani atu tusi ai ma matou faatuatua ia te ia... Ou to molimau ia te outou.. e taua tele lenei galuega.. e fesoasoani ia tatou uso ma tuafafine e aumai tonu lenei lotoa.. Charity

Dear Family and Friends,

So through the week.. I have been thinking of what i could share with everyone this week.. I know i miss a week.. so please forgive me.. Through the week we have been finding and finding.. for those that know.. finding is key to missionary work.. as it says in Preach My Gospel, "Nothing happens in missionary work until you find someone to teach." It really is true.. as well as in anything we do in life.. whether we are looking for a job, house, phone service, etc... there's heaps.. And something that came to mind.. that will help us achieve these things that we are looking for in our life or in my case.. missionary work... it comes from the Bible.. 1 Corinthians 13...

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 charity buffered long, and is kind; charity denviethnot; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself aunseemly, seeketh not her bown, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in ainiquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never afaileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a aglass, bdarkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 And now abideth afaith, bhope, ccharity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

So this is what came to mind.. "CHARITY"... Without this charity.. we are nothing as Paul states.. so as we apply this charity.. or this "pure love of Christ" that Mormon talks about.. we will be able to accomplish the plans that the Lord has in store for us.. .I am grateful and can say that everyday.. when i pray for this charity.. That i know and see all my brothers and sisters anywhere i go.. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord..

Power of Prayer

Dear Family and Friends,

My message or blog for today is about prayer. What is prayer?  Prayer is a blessing given to us to communicate with our Heavenly Father. So I lost my scriptures a couple transfers ago and I have been praying that I would be able to get them back. I know that the Lord will provide the way if we want it, like Enos taught, “ And it came to pass that after I had prayed and labored with all diligence, the Lord said unto me: I will grant unto thee according to thy desires, because of thy faith.” Well the other day I  was riding on my bike with my comp, when a member from my first area drives by and stops us. He gets out of the car and hands me my scriptures. He said he found them and decided to take them in case he ran into me. He just moved down to our area.  I know that god answers prayers and he will answer all of ours IF we have FAITH in the Lord Jesus Christ.  He will create and do miracles. I know that this church is true and that it helps us live the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Alofa Atu
